The Poly lactic acid is restricted to limited applications due to its poor mechanical properties and higher cost. The bio-plastics filled fiber and or fillers lessen the cost with improved properties. The plant-based fibers like kenaf, jute, banana and hemp have become alternative solutions for fiber as reinforcement within the existing millennia, as they reduce the price of manufacturing as properly causes no harmful destruction to the ecosystem. Nanocomposites consist of at least one component with dimensions in the nanometer range. The adding of nano particles demonstrates remarkable enhancement in the mechanical properties due to better distribution, a high specific ratio and effective polymer filler interaction. The main objective of this work is to study the effect of water absorption on the tensile, flexural and impact properties of montmorillonite clay reinforced treated kenaf fiber/PLA hybrid nanocomposites.
