In 1666 father Antoine Dreux d'Aubray was poisoned by his daughter, Madeleine-Marguerite de Brinvilliers and her lover, captain Godin de Sainte-Croix, also called the Chevalier de Sainte Croix. In 1670 she had also killed two of her brothers, Antoine and François d'Aubray, to inherit their estates. Source unknown, to be determined. Engraving on laid paper. Made by 'Jean Frosne' after 'Jean Frosne '. Jean Frosne (ca. 1630 -after 1676) was a French engraver of portraits, landscapes and ornaments. He probably engraved after his own designs.
