Richler would return to Montreal in 1952 for two years before settling in London until 1972. While in London, Richler would write his first seven novels, including his most well known novel, "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz". "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz" was published in 1959 to highly positive critical acclaim, solidifying Richler as one of the greatest authors of his generation.
