HANDBOUND IN FOREST GREEN LEATHER WITH GOLD STAMPING ON THE FRONTCOVER AND THE SPINE. THE STAMPING ON THE FRONT COVER INCLUDES THE COLT CREST. This book catalogues the personal arms collection of Colonel Samuel Colt. For the first time, Sam Colt's own collection is thoroughly described and also shown in superlative museum quality photographs. Few students of arms are even aware of the existence of this collection--and almost without exception, this is the first time these arms have been photographed. Material on the personal life of Colonel Colt and a great deal of new technical information on his arms appear here for the first time. Well illustrated with photographs, contemporary drawings, patent papers and advertising cuts not previously illustrated. The publication of this book and the opening of his arms collection to the public in 1964 are in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of Colonel Colt's birthday. Very Scarce in this limited edition. There is very light spotting to the blank end papers. The book pages have the slightest hint of age toning. Otherwise the inside is clean and bright, and the binding is solid. Overall the Book is in Near Fine to Fine condition with only very light use. An opportunity to own a hard-to-find edition of an important book at a reasonable price. Signed by Author.
