Very good. - An original pen & ink and zipatone drawing consisting of 4 panels drawn on 6-3/4 inch high by 20 inch wide art board. The strip portrays Peter Berry and his friend playing golf on a beautiful day "Yeah, the sun is shining . there's a soft summer breeze . the birds are singing . the flowers are in bloom." Only to curse and break their golf clubs in the next panel, concluding "It's too bad we have to spoil it by playing this goofy game!". Field Enterprises' credits are printed on a strip of paper mounted at the top right edge of the first panel. Signed by the cartoonist Carl Grubert at the bottom left of that first panel and dated "7-9" by him. An editorial mark, the letter "Z", is penned in red graphite along the top edge. Slightly soiled, else very good. The American cartoonist Carl Alfred Grubert, Jr. (1911-1979) drew the comic strip, "The Berrys" from 1942 to 1974. The strip chronicled the lives of the Berry family. In the last ten years of the strip, from at least 1967 on, the strip was often ghosted by Emil Zlatos.
