Hardcover, bound in original green paper-covered boards with pictorial dustjacket. The front flap of the dustjacket states "Seventh Printing" and is unclipped, showing original $1.00 price. In very good condition. The binding is intact and firm. Short, tody, guft inscription (To David from Cousin Karen) inside front cover, otherwise unmarked. Light shelfwear to board edges. The dustjacket is unclipped, showing original $1.00 price, and is in very good overall condition with mild wear and rubbing to extremities (mainly the spine). Still bright and attractive in a new clear Mylar wrapper.

Helen Sewell was a prolific illustrator, known for illustrating Laura Ingalls Wilders's Little House books, works by Elizabeth Coatesworth and A.A. Milne, and serveral of her own books (among others). Sayers was an author, librarian, and lecturer on children's literature. This was her first book.
