Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very Good+. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Ballantine Book number H-122. This book is in Very Good+ condition and has a Very Good dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine ends have some very beginning bumping. The text pages are clean, but there is generalized lightish toning. The dust jacket is in generally clean, bright condition, but there is a small semi-closed edge tear to the bottom rear spine joint, and another small semi-closed tear to the top rear spine joint. The front panel has some light spots of rubbing, and there is some beginning bumping and wear to the spine ends. The $2.00 price is still on the dust jacket. This is one of the early Ballantine hardbacks that was published simultaneously with the pb's. These hardbacks are quite scarce now. The contents include: Vintage Season, The Devil we Know, Home There's No Returning, Exit the Professor, and, Two-Handed Engine. " But as great as Moore and Kuttner were separately, their joint works really brought out the best in both of them. Often writing under one of over a dozen pseudonyms, their collaborations were so seamless that, according to mutual friend L. Sprague de Camp, it was often impossible for either Moore or Kuttner to recollect who had written what part of a particular story. They wrote mostly in the genres of science fiction and fantasy, with "Mimsy Were the Borogoves" and "Vintage Season" their two best-remembered works today; the duo also wrote a pair of mystery novels: The Brass Ring (1946) and The Day He Died (1947)."
