The remaining 17.39% of power generation is contributed by renewable energy sources (57260.23MW) that includes small hydro-electric power plants (43798.66MW), wind power plants (32279.77MW), bio-mass plants (8311.78MW) and solar power plants (12288.83MW). The energy demand in India is increasing day by day; As a result newer energy resources are beginning utilized to meet the required demand with the conventional sources of energy. Even though nuclear and renewable energy sources increases the power generation capacity it fails to meet steep increase in energy demand due to domestic and industrial consumption.
