This book combines biography and critical analysis, based on interviews with Gray and visits to his studio. Works by Gray throughout his career are featured, including full-page views of "Threnody", the multipanel painting Gray created as a response to the Vietnam War for the Neuberger Museum at the State University of New York at Purchase.
