Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is a comprehensive guide to writing original musical compositions, guiding beginners through the fundamentals of harmony and rhythm. The author acknowledges that true mastery in composition cannot be taught but aims to arm students with the tools they need to explore their own creativity. The book starts by breaking down the creation of melodies into their most basic elements and demonstrates how to harmonize these with chords formed from notes in the corresponding scale. It goes on to explore how to create musical sentences from these phrases, how to construct more inventive melodic outlines, and how to use rhythm and cadence effectively. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
