Exemplar com ligeiros danos nas charneiras, coifas e cantos das pastas. Tem picos de humidade e uma mancha no pé das margens de todas as folhas. Apresenta restuaros amadores na folha de rosto e na folha que contém as págs. 17/18. A folha de guarda anterior encontra-se parcialmente colada à primeira folha em branco. Carel Sirardus Willem van Hogendorp (1788 - 1856) foi um Governador-geral das Índias Orientais Neerlandesas em 1840 - 1841. A obra oferece uma perspetiva geral da ilha de Java (principal ilha da atual Indonésia) e de territórios próximos sob domínio holandês, ao nível económico, agrícola, administrativo e etnográfico. The frontispiece depicts the Buitenzorg Palace; the map by F. Callens, colored in outlines, describes the Dutch territories in the Far East.
