He formed Hill & Adamson studio with the engineer and photographer Robert Adamson between 1843 and 1847 to pioneer many aspects of photography in Scotland. This striking volume contains 80 b/w photographic reproductions giving a perfect evaluation of the Victorian calotype photographer. Binding rubbed and partly stained along edges. Some foxing on endpapers. Binding in overall fair, interior in good to good+, plates in very good condition.
