Full leather (polished calf) covers with gilt border decoration and gilt panelling and lettering to spine. Five raided bands to spine. Leather scratched and worn to edges. Corners worn. Marbled end papers and gilt edging to tops of all pages. There is a page prior to half title with presentation details form EC Hawtry, the Headmaster of Eton, completed by hand with the details of the recipient, dated 1852 (amended from 1841). All edges gilt. Red border to text on each page. First page has some foxing but otherwise clean and bright. When securely packed this item will weigh in the region of 1343g.
