This book has been re-bound in the original casing with new endpapers. The four cloth corners are now morocco leather so will last a lot longer and somewhat unusually there is a strip of the same leather to strengthen the spine edge. The leading edge appears dyed, but probably not by the original printer/binder so this may have been done when the book underwent some renovations. Either way, it is not done very well with a strip of ink/dye to the lower edge. The dye in no way affects the margins of the pages. One gathering where some pages were closed has been forced open at some point with small chips and very short tears to the margins of a relatively few pages. No loss of text. A good or good plus copy.
