Green cloth with spine lightly toned. Black top edge; toning to fore-edge and bottom edge. Dark blue endpapers; past owner's ink signature upon front pastedown mostly hidden underneath dj's front flap. Interior pages slightly toned at margins but otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Else a very good copy in a good dust jacket. American cryptologist Herbert O. Yardley (1889-1958) founded the United States' first peacetime cryptanalytic organization The Black Chamber, aka The Cipher Bureau, in May 1919 and successfully broke Japanese diplomatic codes. Early printings his poker treatise are uncommon.
