Très bon exemplaire dans l'ensemble, bien complet, bien que le premier tiers du premier volume ait été attaqué par un poinçon, qui a laissé un trou millimétrique à un centimètre de la marge inférieure. Sans importance, la qualité du reste de l'exemplaire minimise ce fait.

Nollet, fut le vulgarisateur scientifique et en électricité le plus célèbre du XVIIIe s. Ses leçons publiques étaient les manifestations de ce genre les plus populaires de son époque. Grâce à des démonstrations soigneusement orchestrées avec des centaines d'instruments différents, Nollet parvenait à divertir son auditoire enthousiaste.
