With a tipped-in tissue-protected photographic frontispiece, twenty-four further plates of photographs, tipped in brown card leaves, and scores of further printed photographs. Some discolouration to the head of the upper and lower boards. A little light occasional spotting and some offset browning from some plates to adjacent leaves, and a hint of moisture wrinkling to the head of some plate leaves. Upper board just a little tender. Contemporary former owner gift inscription inked to the front free endpaper. A good copy in the uncommon dust wrapper, sadly somewhat nicked, chipped, stained and discoloured, and split into several parts at the natural folds and internally repaired with tape. A one-page introduction by Lieut. Mary Plummer precedes contributions by Elizabeth Flagler MacKeen, Jessie Pope, plus several further unaccredited prose pieces, followed by dozens of extracts from letters home.
