Illustrated by 64 plates, the chapters address lotteries and games played with cards, dice, dominoes, and other paraphernalia. The author (1907-1995) was appointed as superintendent in the Malaya police in 1948 and, at the time of publication, was serving as assistant commissioner. Quarto. With 64 plates (14 colour). Original green cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket designed by Liew Kim. Contemporary ink stamp of Singaporean businessman W. M. Edwards; recent ownership signature on rear pastedown; Cloth just a little marked, the odd spot internally; jacket price-clipped, some rubbing and chipping, tidemark and old adhesive tape repair at foot of spine: a near-fine copy in very good jacket.
