Rowling (1999) 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban', UK first edition, first printing, first state, published by Bloomsbury. First state with 'Joanne Rowling' credited on the copyright page, and the dropped text on page 7 as called for. The first print run consisted of 5,150 copies only (Errington: 187), divided into three states. This is one of the scarce first state copies. The trade assumes that roughly 2,500 copies were printed. Hard to find in nice condition if at all. Most copies are now tight up in collections of fans and investors. Condition: a fine copy in a fine dust jacket. No scribbles, no bookplates, no bumping, no pushes to the spine. As good as new. Slightest of toning to page block edges which only pronounces the authenticity of the book. An exceptional copy. Ajouter au panierFirst edition, first printing. Published by Bloomsbury, London, in 1999. This is a fine copy. One of fourteen working copies, with Clays LTD., ink stamp dated 05 May 1999 (two months before the original date on 8th July 1999) to the rear pastedown, and the Clays LTD. adhesive 'Standard EDTN' sticker. This copy correctly reads 'Joanne Rowling' on the copyright page, complete with the one to ten number line. The dust wrapper, illustrated by Cliff Wright, has not been clipped showing the correct £10.99 price. There is no notable wear. The pictorial boards are bright, clean and with only very slight crumpling to the tail edge. This copy is free from previous owners ink, aside from the aforementioned publishers stamp. The text blocks are bright, clean and free from foxing. Overall, this is a fine and incredibly scarce copy of Rowling's third Harry Potter title; this copy was used as a working copy at Clays printers in Bungay - the quantity of 14 suggests that this was one of the first off the press.
