The spines are a bit sun-faded. Book plate is pasted inside front covers. Both volumes have some foxing and smudges but are in quite good condition. There are a few pencil markings. The pages in Volume 1 are somewhat wavy. Book was donated to Friends of the Omaha Public Library.

Internally lightly browned, very occasional foxing, good plus in original red cloth gilt boards, rebacked with red cloth and original once tatty spines relaid, some japanese paper tape to spine of vol 2, boards have some fading, rubbed and lightly bumped corners.
