A fine, fresh copy in equally fine gold foil dust jacket. , Rice's iconic tale that introduced Louis de Pointe du Lac, a 200 year old vampire who was "sired" in the late 18th century by undead Lestat de Lioncourt. Louis decides in the second half of the 20th century, to tell his his life story to a young New Orleans reporter. The book was based on an earlier Anne Rice short story written around 1968; Rice composed the novel shortly after the death of her own young daughter and based on her the character of child-vampire Claudia (to many readers the most spine chilling and nightmare-inducing of all the characters in the novel). The book was the basis for the 1994 film of the same name starring Tom Cruise as well as the 2022 AMC television series. It was followed by a series of popular sequels (The Vampire Chronicles) that ran to a dozen more books, the last being released in 2018.

Personally signed by Anne Rice, famous for her work as a supernatural fiction author, including her Vampire Chronicles series and other notable works. This is the first book of the "Vampire Chronicles". Anne Rice is an American author of gothic fiction, Christian literature, and erotica. She is perhaps best known for her popular and influential series of novels, The Vampire Chronicles, revolving around the central character of Lestat. Books from The Vampire Chronicles were the subject of two film adaptations, Interview with the Vampire in 1994, and Queen of the Damned in 2002. ABOUT THE BOOK. In Anne Rice's classic debut novel, Interview With The Vampire, the 200 hundred year-old Louis Pointe du Lac tells how he became a vampire. After a devastating personal loss, Louis sought solace first in alcohol, then in the charismatic vampire Lestat's offer to join the "undead". But the "dark gift" of immortality does not free Louis from the grief and loneliness of living. While he has the power to satisfy his appetites, he cannot escape them, nor can he deny responsibility for his actions. A profound philosophical thriller, Interview With The Vampire transformed the Vampire of Bram Stoker's novel and Hollywood's movies into a myth for our age. Signed by Author(s).
