First published in 1767, Buller's treatise on trial practice in rural places is derived from a collection of trials by his uncle, Bathurst, who is sometimes listed as the author. The second edition is considerably enlarged with original material. A standard work for decades, it went though several reissues and seven editions, the last in 1817.
