Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Very good- condition. First edition. Small Octavo. 47 [1]pp. Original illustrated paper-covered boards with black lettering on cover. Introduction by Count Hessenstein. Illustrated with drawings by Spitz. A collection of acrid jokes about Adolf Hitler. "The spectre of fear holds the German people in a cold, pitiless grip. The leaders fear the people, as the people fear the leaders." Introduction) Sample: A Slight Case of Mania. Adolf Hitler went to inspect a mental home. The superintendent doctor showed him all departments of the home, and explained the case of each patient. 'And who is in that cell?' asked Hitler, pointing to a closed door. 'I hardly like to tell you,' said the doctor. 'It's a strange case. Behind that door are five men who suffer from a queer sort of megalomania. They all wear short moustaches and keep on muttering: "I am Adolf Hitler, the greatest man in Germany!" 'Open the door!' ordered the Führer. 'I want to speak to them. Shut the door behind me, and when I rap, open it and let me out.' The doctor promptly obeyed. After five minutes there was a violent bang at the door. The physician flung the door open. A short man with a short moustache came out. To this day nobody knows which one left the cell. Binding lightly sunned with one and a half inch by half inch chip at tail of spine. Block lightly age-toned.
