Ajouter au panierLeather. Etat : Fine. Hans Alexander Mueller (illustrateur). [1966] BLACK FINE BINDING HARDCOVER, BOUND IN GENUINE LEATHER, 237 pages. This is the FULL LEATHER BY EASTON PRESS, WITH GILT FEATURES - NOT THE CHEAPER COMPOSITE BINDING OR THE REGULAR CLOTH TRADE BINDING. Illustrated with wood engravings by Hans Alexander Mueller. Introduction by Christopher Morley. Collector's Edition. Sophisticated binding, four raised ridges on spine. Lettering, designs stamped with gorgeous accents of 22kt. gold - a hallmark of fine bookmaking. This beautifully bound genuine leather binding was hand selected from individually tanned hides. Textured and shaded, acid-neutral paper won't turn yellow over time. Pages are Smyth-sewn into the binding for permanence (not glued like ordinary books). Endpapers are beautiful satin moiré, specially dyed for the publisher. Edges gilded on three sides to enhance the book's elegance. Satin ribbon page marker bound in binding. Condition: Two insignificant scuffs and one small ding to gilt edges from shelving, else overall New, Fine, Pristine. Never read. Book purchased by physician as a collectible for display in his bookcase. Kept in temperature-controlled environment. No smoke smells from a cigarette or cigar smoker . In gift-giving condition. Kidnapped is a wonderful story about David Balfour and an inheritance from his father. But his uncle, Ebenezer, cheated him out of the money. That leads to Ebenezer setting up the kidnapping of Balfour, then getting him on a ship to the Carolinas. That should put an end to giving Balfour the money. Meanwhile, Balfour meets political rebel Alan Breck on the ship and the story gets exciting, adventurous, and involved. A wonderful, classic story for adults and young people. A beautiful leather-bound book, and very collectible. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical book dealer in business since 1991. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will be receiving when you order. We ship promptly.
