Provenance: G.B. (sticker to inside of wrapper cover). With an original drawing by Lobel-Riche and manuscript essay from Pierre Benoit. L'Atlantide was originally published in 1919 and shortly became a huge success, winning the Grand Prize of the Academie Francaise the same year. Its popularity was largely attributed to the welcome escape Benoit's passionate and exotic novel gave to those suffering from the horrors of WWI.
