Ajouter au panierMass Market Paperback. Etat : Very Good. Vintage Paperback, Jove M4437: This is an early work by Freemantle, a former British journalist whose spy novels has been compared to LeCarre. The story begins when a team of six Israeli agents is ambushed on the shore of a European lake where they have just recovered four steel boxes sunk in the lake by Nazi soldiers thirty years before as the Third Reich crumbled. Three of the boxes contain gold; one box is filled with files that can identify Nazis who escaped and now live behind new identities, some even with new faces. That box and the sixth Israeli agent have disappeared. The Neo-Nazis, Israelis, Russians and many others want that box and that agent. So the hunt begins. First Jove paperback edition, first printing (as stated on copyright page). Mass market paperback, 256 pages in pictorial wrappers showing three gold bars with Nazi markings and the heads of Nazi soldiers. Lettering on covers and spine in red, black and gold. Wrappers show light reading creases and other minimal surface and edge wear. No tearing, bumping or scratching. Text shows mild age-tanning along tops of pages, o/w text is clean, complete and unmarked. Not ex-library, not remaindered. A very good copy of a very good story.
