No Jacket. 1st Edition. hardback, seven volume set complete, volumes published between 1905 and 1911, the first by T Fisher Unwin and subsequent volumes by Taylor, Garnett, Evans & Co. Folio, each measuring 12 3/4" x 9 1/4". Uniformly bound in blue cloth and lettered gilt, top edges gilt, fore and bottom e…dges rough-trimmed. Lightly rubbed and creased to the head and foot of the spines, bottom leading corners of the boards knocked. Minor uneven fading to the cloth, light ink splash stain to one upper and one lower board. Details of a previous owner to the front pastedowns has been part obscured by the label of a later owner. The body of the text is unmarked. Maps of the Hundreds, some illustrations to the text, portrait of the author to volume VII. A very heavy set, but price includes postage within the United Kingdom. Postage costs overseas will be substantial.
