This manuscript document is a petition by the residents of Dedham, Massachusetts to establish a new precinct in the area of Dedham. According to the document, a committee was set up to evaluate that request approved it in in November 1736. The text describes the area that was part of the petition, and names a number of people that inhabit the area at that time; such as, Ebenezer Ellis, William Bullard, Nathaniel Lewis, and Samuel Farmington. The petition is signed by Joseph Wilder, the lawyer representing the petitioners, and John Avery, who was the Secretary of the Province. Text suggests the petition was granted.
