Colour map 60 x 61cm in 15 sections mounted on linen, folding down 12 x 21cm with blue cloth front and back, and label of distributors Edward Stanford to front with handwritten title Kangchenjunga. Printed in Switzerland. Very good except for pinholes and rust residue to corners. Very faint partially legible ink stamp to verso (South Audley Street, London). Very rare - just one copy on Worldcat and Jisc (National Library of Scotland). The map is contemporary with a series of unsuccessful attempts to scale the peak, which was not achieved until 1955 (Bauer 1929, Farmer 1929, Dyrenhfurth, Wieland, Schneider, and Frank Smythe 1930, and Bauer 1931.
