Hard cover. Book is near fine; clean inside without marks. The dust wrapper is unclipped but has quite a bot of wear to the front and chipping at the head of the spine. Jacket also has some dog eared tears to the reverse. Endpapers with Phillippe Jullian's illustrations. He has inscribed the book for Sheila on the verso of the title page, signed and dated Christmas 1960. One of the last works of Violet Trefusis, chiefly remembered for her lengthy affair with Vita Sackville-West, This, one of her last books, follows the travelling 1759 Louis XV armchair through time and adventures.
