This book, a poignant firsthand account penned by American author Reginald Wright Kauffman, captures the heart-wrenching devastation of Belgium in the onset of World War I. The author, an eyewitness to the unfolding tragedy, paints a vivid portrait of the resilience and spirit of the Belgian people as they faced immeasurable loss and unimaginable suffering. This book is a sobering reminder of the human cost of war and a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who endure its horrors. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
