Soft cover. Etat : Near Fine. 2nd Edition. Bob Holman's written works, in a way, defy categorization. Perhaps that is as he wished it to be. Much of the book seems a kind of Joycean stream of consciousness - a stream that flows through American culture in all its wonderment and grittiness, picking up detritus and transforming it into urgent utterance. Nothing is unworthy of note. But it is all thought - full. There is also an episode of concrete poetry, wherein the author plays with the nature of the printed word on the page. Such efforts are always interesting, and they often take the reader into strange rooms of the mind.
