Ajouter au panierEtat : Fine book. Etat de la jaquette : In fine dust jacket. In Philip Farkas we find one of the most articulate and much published musicians and teachers of our time. His articulate explanations of music and the special challenges of horn playing and documented in 3 books and many articles, only a few of which are reprinted or excerpted in the third chapter of this book. The opening chapter is all Phil's; his recollection, successes, fears, and wit all combine to give a candid and entertaining look at how he feels he grew into what he became. Those who know Phil may recognize some of his stories, from the poker game in a disconnected railroad car to depositing Erich Leinsdorf at a draft induction center with a copy of Emanuel Kant's On Pure Reason and a Homburg hat. He doesn't include the story of the perfect concert in Boston with Reiner, but another contributor does. With Phil there are just too many great tales to expect him to include them all in a short book. Tall 8vo. 9-5/16 x 6-1/4". Blue cloth covered boards stamped in gold.
