Volume III of "The Angler's Library", edited by Sir Herbert Maxwell and F.G. Aflalo. Westwood & Satchell gives 1898 as the first edition and most copies seem to be so dated. Since publishing Pike Anglers' Library I have seen a copy clearly dated (in Roman numerals) 1897 on the title-page. Jardine was one of the most successful pike anglers ever, with catches of large fish comparable to those of today's specimen hunters. He gave his name to the Jardine snap-tackle, popular for a century, and to the Jardine lead. He was the first in a dynasty of well-known anglers which continues to the present. .

Aflalo. Westwood & Satchell gives 1898 as the first edition and most copies seem to be so dated. Since publishing Pike Anglers' Library I have seen a copy clearly dated (in Roman numerals) 1897 on the title-page. Jardine was one of the most successful pike anglers ever, with catches of large fish comparable to those of today's specimen hunters. He gave his name to the Jardine snap-tackle, popular for a century, and to the Jardine lead. He was the first in a dynasty of well-known anglers which continues to the present. .
