Special edition privately printed and issued by Lampman and Scott in 1892. The pair self published six small booklets/broadsides to give to friends at Christmas time between 1890 - 98. Tiny, single sheet broadside measures (when opened) approximately 9" x 7." Folded in half and then in half again, presumably to put in a Christmas card. Poems are printed side by side and include "A Song" by Scott and "Earth: The Stoic" by Lampman. Both authors have signed their names under their respective poems. A beautiful copy of this fragile item, which came out four years after his first book, "Among The Millet (1888) and precedes his second book, Lyrics of Earth (1895) by three years. Lampman and Scott were prominent figures in 19th Canadian poetry, both belonging to the group of poets known as the Confederation Poets. They shared a close literary friendship, with Scott even acting as Lampman's literary executor after his death, helping to publish and edit his work. It almost?goes without saying, that this item is exceedingly rare.
