Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book offers a rigorous examination of paper tearing instruments and their testing methods. The author conducts a comparative study of different instrument types and test sample sizes, uncovering the significant influence of sample size on tearing strength measurements. The author emphasizes the importance of understanding fabric assistance, a critical factor in the textile industry that affects tearing strength based on the amount of paper fibers assisting the tear path. Further analysis is dedicated to two specific tearing instrumentsâ"a recording and a non-recording type. The recording instrument, known for providing detailed tear curves, is evaluated for accuracy and reliability, while the non-recording instrument, suited for mill use, is assessed for potential errors due to beam position and water impact. Through this detailed analysis, the author presents valuable insights into the performance and limitations of these instruments, aiding the reader in selecting the most appropriate method for their specific testing needs. Ultimately, this book enhances our understanding of paper tearing mechanisms and the methodologies used to evaluate them, contributing significantly to the field of paper testing and quality control. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
