Wrapper is heavily worn and rubbed to all corners with a number of small tears and slight loss to upper and lower edges of spine. Has been extensively repaired internally with special non acidic archive tape and is now in a removable clear protective sleeve. Boards are in good condition with no significant marks. Nice condition copy internally with little wear, no loose pages, hinges are tight. Heavy book, please inquire for postage outside the UK.

Davis raced at Brooklands, le Mans, in the TT and other events throughout the 20s and 30s, winning the 1927 24 Hours race in a factory Bentley after pulling it out of a multiple pile up at White House corner during the night and, with bits falling off it and the chassis bent, struggling on to the end in Bentley's most famous motor sporting success. Lots of trials, rallying and hillclimb interest as well. Davis then served in WW2 driving a jeep. 216 pages Good condition book, the jacket has some paper loss at the base of the spine , which is generally worn. .

The autobiography of Sammy C. H. Davis, Sports Editor of 'The Autocar'. Davis also competed in many forms of motor racing in the 1920s.
