Original dark maroon cloth with debossed decorations and borders front, rear and spine, gilt lettering spine. The book has clean covers, chipping at the ends of the spine, spine gilt lettering has dulled and turned brown, solid binding with original EPs, foxing on EPs and on several text pages (most are without foxing) and foxing on about 22 of the specimen plates that extends inside the images, and some mostly marginal foxing on the landscape/cultural plates with most of those images free of foxing.
