Toning/foxing to interior leaves with some staining; ink signature "Zech. Eddy" on front free endpaper (similar to signature of Middleborough, Massachusetts attorney Zechariah Eddy, 1780-1860, who has correspondence manuscripts held by Amherst College). Text block is firm. Although without his signature or law firm mark, this book was among the personal library of Centreville, Bibb County, Alabama attorney John Tullis Ellison, 1865-1947, and was acquired from the estate of his daughter Rhoda Coleman Ellison, 1904-2005, who was a noted academic and author.
