With a contemporary single leaf broadside of the rule and regulations of the Acrotormentarian Society of Riflemen tipped-in to RFEP The first edition of a treatise on the history, construction, and use of the rifle, commonly attributed to politician Henry Benjamin Hanbury Beaufoy (1786-1851). A second edition appeared in 1812. The Acrotormentarian Society of Riflemen was a civilian rifle-shooting club founded, as with dozens of other patriotic organisations, during the Napoleonic invasion scare of 1803-04. Size: 8vo.
