Ajouter au panierto pay Lady Ruth Trevor £250, being her half-year's pension to Christmas 26 Charles II (1674), 1 side 2¼" x 8", 11th January 1674, new style sides defective just touching last two letters of signature Lady Ruth was the widow of Sir John Trevor, 1626-1672, an M.P. under the Commonwealth but who favoured the Restoration, from 1668 Secretary of State. The pension was one of a handful of priority payments out of the excise, granted by Letters Patent of 24th July 1672. It appears to have been last paid in November 1687. Signed also by [Thomas] Vernon (d. 1685, from 1676 2nd Bart.), one of the four Tellers of the Exchequer.
