First French edition, limited to 1,500 copies, of which this is no.181, 4to., pp.123, half dark green morocco, five raised bands, gilt, contrasting green cloth boards, t.e.g., marbled endpapers, original pictorial wrappers bound in, 24 tipped-in colour plates with tissue guards, pictorial title in black and white, with lettering in red, b/w illustrations and decorations within, with illuminated capitals in red and black; toning to margins, slight mustiness, some creasing to corners of tissue guards, light wear to leather along lower edges of boards and at corners (retouched), some light rubbing along joints, a very good copy indeed.
