A Complete Archive of Early Thomas Pynchon Scholarship Offered is the complete run comprising 57 issues in 35 original printed wrappers, from No. 1 (February 1979) through Nos. 56-57 (Spring-Fall 2009). This is the principal scholarly journal devoted exclusively to the work of Thomas Pynchon and remains one of the most important primary resources documenting the development of Pynchon criticism from its beginnings. Provenance Issues 1-20/21 were acquired in 2016 from Hiding Place Books (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). The final fourteen issues were obtained directly from Khachig Tölölyan and the editorial offices of Pynchon Notes. Only two issues required separate antiquarian acquisition. Issue No. 1 retains its original mailing address to George J. Bishop (Department of English, SUNY Buffalo), an early Pynchon scholar, providing noteworthy scholarly provenance. Condition Overall condition ranges from Very Good to Near Fine. The scarce early issues (Nos. 2-10) are exceptionally well preserved. Issue No. 1 shows expected signs of age and handling, including remnants of original tape and its original mailing address, but remains complete and structurally sound. Significance Complete runs of Pynchon Notes are rarely offered on the market. This archive documents nearly three decades of international Pynchon scholarship and represents an outstanding resource for collectors, researchers and institutional libraries.
