First page present is the title page. Text block complete and still tight - 232 pages. No date printed anywhere, but seems to be the 1783 edition.Small chip, no text, missing from title page. The name E. Berrett, neatly signed on the title page. First page of dedication to Joseph Willard has the name 'Eliza Berrett No 9 Cherry Street' signed at the top. Final page has a closed tear running nearly all the way across it. Inside front cover has several pencil notes from previous bookseller, including Evans #16261. Dodd was a clergyman who, as wikipedia puts it, dabbled in forgery. He was eventually hanged for his crimes, in 1777. Please email with questions or to request photos. Writings from the author after his trial, in the knowledge that his punishment would be death. Bound by Seton, Edinburgh. Bound in half calf with marbled boards. Externally, sound with rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd mark to the boards. Library sticker to the tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
