John Boynton was the Headmaster of Cutnall Green School for twelve years from 1975 until 1987. During that time he was able to examine English rural life through the eyes of three former Headmasters from Victorian times to the end of the Second World War. This account takes the form of a diary containg extracts from the Headmaster's log. Written in an open and accessible style which has left in tact the quirks and vagiaries of the extracts of the log.
