Clean pages and illustrations with noticeable tanning and foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Thumb-marking present. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Visible wear marks to boards. Unclipped jacket. Panels and spine have light edgewear with tears and creases. Minor loss to spine and edges. Moderate tanning and wear marks to flaps, panels and spine.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, cloth had faded and become discoloured. Bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities. Ink marks to the front free-endpaper. Tipped in photographs and ink notes by the author to the verso of the front free-endpaper and half title page. Signed by the author to the title page. Internally, front hinge is starting but firm. Book is firmly bound. Slight spotting to the first and last few pages, otherwise pages bright and clean Good. book.
