Walasse Ting (October 13, 1929 May 17, 2010) was a Chinese-American painter. He left China in 1946, lived briefly in Hong Kong and settled in Paris in 1952. There he met Karel Appel, Asger Jorn and Pierre Alechinsky, all members of the Cobra movement. In 1957 he went to America and settled in New York, where his work was influenced by Pop Art and Abstract Expressionism. From 1989 he lived alternately in New York and Amsterdam, where he had a studio together with Appel. Ting worked with acrylic paint on rice paper. He often painted half-naked women surrounded by birds, cats and other animals. Major museums around the world own his work, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. this book contains his art and photos of the translation of his art into his clothing line. Size book : 42 x 30 cm./ 16.5 x 11.8 inch.
