By the publishers of the beloved Little Golden Books for children, this is a collection of 11 very little books issued as part of the Tiny Golden Library, 1948/49 (5 are 1980 reprints). Each is a sturdy hardcover with a single-staple binding measuring 3" x 3", approx. 22 pages, with brightly decorated cov…ers & internal lithographed illustrations. Please see photos for titles; there is 1 duplicate(Cowboy Kitten). Stories by Dorothy Kunhardt, with illustrations by Garth Williams (who would become famous for his art on the "Little House" books, "Stuart Little,'' "Charlotte's Web,'' & more beloved children's tales. Condition ranges from Fair (Uncle Quack) to Near Fine (Baby Camel)--most are Good-VG: clean & unmarked (save for 1 with former owner's name in crayon inside front cover), bindings secure (some staples show rust & some are loosening). Books have a bit of crinkling to the heads of the spine and most of the bottom edge of the lower boards have some roughness, which includes tiny chips or pulls. May have been done in binding, given the remaining area…s of the books are near fine. The bookshelf box has a bump to a rear upper corner, a little rubbing and creasing to the edges, and a small shadow mark on the front. Reprints of some of a set originally published in the 1940s, with a newly designed book shelf. Books include: Poor Frightened Mr. Pig; The Easter Bunny; The Naughty Little Guest; Happy Valentine; Roger Mouse's Wish; Uncle Quack; The Wonderful Silly Picnic; Mrs. Sheep's Little Lamb; The Cowboy Kitten; Little Squirrel's Santa Claus; The Two Snowballs; and April Fool!
