Full subtitle: Materials for a discussion on the attenuated border of the moraine described in Volume Z of the Second Geological Survey of Pennsylvania. Laid in is…a separate printing of a letter from the author to the editors of Science, n.s., vol. 5, no. 115, pp. 448 (1897) entitled Greenland Glaciers. Accompanied by two offprints by the same author. Notes on Kansas drift appeared in Proceedings of the American Philosophical Society, vol. 38, no. 157 (1898), and is very good in offprint wrappers with two tears side-by-side in bottom edge of front wrapper. Notes on the southern ice limit is reprinted from the American Journal of Science, vol. 49 (1895) and is very good in offprint wrappers. Williams was Professor of Geology at Lehigh University.

A toy book published by Jonathan Grout of Worcester, Massachusetts, at that time a bookseller and publisher. Rear cover has an address of 199 Main Street, which according to the 19th century Juvenil…e Series website, Grout occupied from 1845 to 1846. It appears he published a variety of juvenile series books. This work contains an 18 page account of William Tell and his exploits, followed by a short piece on a snow drift involving a boy and his sheep. GOOD condition. Minor soiling and staining to the wrappers, with chipping, creasing and tearing along the extremities and corners. One inch tear to the rear cover. Moderate to heavy foxing and spotting in the interior, with curling to the page corners.
