To Mr. Knupp*: Interesting letter to Taylor's attorney, who had been helping with legal advice about his stepdaughter Manuela Thiess**. In part: " - our daughter Manuela, decided to terminate her marriage - she returned home and gave us indications that she was ready to accept our way of life and be guided - by our recommendations - However, she again decided that she'd prefer to be on her own, has left home, taken a job as a waitress - we believe that any further offer of assistance from us - would not only be unwelcome but inadvisable - Thanx for your trouble and you may bill me - for expenses already incurred - " *Knupp was an attorney with Mitchell, Silberberg and Knupp. The law firm has been in Los Angeles since 1908. Taylor's stepdaughter, Manuela Thiess"* was born in 1944, the daughter of German director Georg Thiess and actress Ursula Thiess.
